Il miglior attore in un film drammatico è il compianto Chadwick Boseman, cui viene tributato un Golden Globe postumo per il suo ultimo ruolo in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, mentre Andra Day è la miglior attrice in un dramma per il ruolo della cantante Billie Holiday nel biopic The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
