Le nomination della 74esima edizione dei Golden Globe Awards sono state annunciate oggi in diretta streaming dal Beverly Hilton Hotel di Hollywood, alle 14.15 ora italiana. A presentarle sono intervenuti gli attori Don Cheadle, Laura Dern e Anna Kendrick.

I premi della Hollywood Foreign Press Association vengono assegnati da una congregazione di giornalisti che fanno da portavoce all’industria cinematografica americana sui media esteri e sono ben altra cosa rispetto agli Oscar, avendo a disposizione un bacino di votanti decisamente diverso dall’Academy. La loro funzione anticipatrice rispetto alle più note statuette dorate è dunque tanto sottolineata a livello mediatico anno dopo anno quanto da relativizzare e prendere come sempre con le pinze.

La cerimonia di consegna dei Golden Globes si terrà l’8 Gennaio e sarà trasmessa in America dalla NBC. Le prossime nomination agli Oscar vedranno invece la luce il prossimo 24 Gennaio, con cerimonia fissata per il 26 febbraio 2017 e conduzione affidata, per la prima volta, a Jimmy Kimmel.

Frontrunner della prossima stagione dei premi, stando alle nomination dei Globes, sono La La Land di Damien Chazelle, Moonlight di Barry Jenkins e Manchester by the Sea di Kenneth Lonergan, che si sono aggiudicati le nomination in tutte e cinque le categorie principali (film, regia, attore e attrice protagonista, sceneggiatura). Un bottino di tutto rispetto per tre film che continueranno sicuramente a dire la la loro nell’intera Award Race.

La La Land, con sette nomination, è il film più nominato in assoluto.

Tra le sorprese, ma fino a un certo, l’affermazione di Hacksaw Ridge di Mel Gibson e soprattutto la nomination a Deadpool nella categoria miglior commedia/musical, con Ryan Reynolds nominato anche come miglior attore nella medesima categoria. Spiccano anche la nomination come miglior attrice drammatica a Isabelle Huppert per Elle e quella a Colin Farrell per The Lobster, essendo entrambi i film in questione piuttosto disturbanti per le logiche dei premi americani e lontani, in apparenza, da riconoscimenti di un certo tipo. La cinquina dei miglior registi, composta da Damien Chazelle, Mel Gibson, Kenneth Lonergan, Barry Jenkins e Tom Ford, sfodera invece dei nomi con ottime probabilità di rinconfermarsi anche agli Oscar.

Ottima la cinquina dei film d’animazione, a riprova dell’ottima annata per la categoria, e stimolante anche il quintetto di candidati come miglior straniero, con Neruda di Pablo Larrain e Toni Erdmann di Maren Ade a contendersi il ruolo di favorito.
