Indipendent Spirit Awards 2021, tutte le nomination: A Chiara candidato come miglior film

Gli Indipendent Spirit Awards, riconoscimenti che premiano il meglio del cinema indipendente, hanno annunciato le nomination per la 37esima edizione (a votare per le canddidature una cinquantina di membri, mentre saranno 6.000 i votanti appartenenti all'associazione Film Indipendent ad assegnare i premi).
I film candidabili devono essere prodotti negli Stati Uniti con un budget inferiore ai 22.5 milioni di dollari, mentre la premiazione è prevista per il 6 marzo 2022: non più il weekend prima degli Oscar, ma appena prima dell’apertura delle votazioni finali, prevista per il 17 marzo, con qualche possibilità in pù di influenzare il verdettto finale dell'Academy rispetto al solito.
Lo studio indipendente A24 domina con 13 candidature, andate a film come C’mon C’mon, Zola, The Humans e Red Rocket. Quattro nomination per The Lost Daughter, tra cui quella alla miglior regista per Maggie Gyllenhaal, mentre A Chiara di Jonas Carpignano strappa le candidature come miglior film, miglior fotografia e miglior montaggio.
