La notizia è ufficiale: The Book of Boba Fett sarà una serie originale, ambientata nella stessa linea temporale ma separata rispetto a The Mandalorian. L'uscita è prevista su Disney+ per dicembre 2021. Si scioglie così il dubbio sul fatto che potesse trattarsi di una terza stagione dello stesso The Mandalorian.

Produttori esecutivi, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni e Robert Rodriguez; nel cast Temuera Morrison e Ming-Na Wen. Lo stesso Favreau ha svelato che le riprese della terza stagione di The Mandalorian inizieranno una volta terminate quelle di The Book of Boba Fett.
