Tribeca Film Festival 2020: Il programma

Annunciata la line-up del Tribeca Film Festival 2020, in programma a New York dal 15 al 26 aprile.

Un anno ricco di cambiamenti, come ha dichiarato Paula Weinstein, chief content officer di Tribeca Enterprises:

Prima la storia, poi l’empatia, poi il cambiamento. Quando cambi il narratore, offri la possibilità a voci diverse di mostrare al pubblico nuovi mondi attraverso i loro occhi. Abbiamo il privilegio di poter assistere alla nascita di mondi nuovi e straordinari grazie ad autori visionari. Speriamo che gli spettatori concludano la loro esperienza al Festival emozionati, commossi e divertiti.

Aggiunge Cara Cusumano, direttrice del Tribeca Film Festival:

In un anno di elezioni in cui tutti ci recheremo ai seggi per prendere grandi decisioni sul nostro futuro, questi film sono un’opportunità per creare legami e comprenderci a vicenda.

Tantissimi volti noti presenteranno i loro nuovi progetti durante la kermesse: tra questi Sean Penn, al centro del documentario Citizen Penn (il progetto, incluso nella sezione Movies Plus, racconta i suoi sforzi per aiutare la popolazione di Haiti); Drew Barrymore, protagonista di The Stand-In; Elisabeth Moss, protagonista del biopic Shirley, in cui vestirà i panni dell’autrice de L’incubo di Hill House, Shirley Jackson.

Tra le anteprime mondiali anche Bad Education con Hugh Jackman e The King of Staten Island di Judd Apatow. 

Il film d’apertura sarà invece il documentario Jimmy Carter Rock & Roll President di Mary Wharton.

Il programma conterà 115 film di 124 registi provenienti da 33 paesi. Tra questi, 95 anteprime mondiali.
